Jayee Institute

About us
Jayee Institute, “Jayee” is an acronym of the initials of the
founder and Director’s Christian names, J. E. John Emmanuel.

Historical background
Jayee Institute was registered with the Registrar General’s Department and Ghana Education Service in 1987. The name chosen was “JAYEE SECRETARIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE” and it was located at the YMCA Regional Hall, Asylum Down, Accra. The aim was “to create a center for young school leavers to be trained in Secretarial and Professional skills to be used in various levels of manpower.” The initial intake was thirty (30) students in April 1988. The intake increased to eighty (80) by the end of the year and the Institute was compelled to operate three sessions (Morning, Afternoon and Evening) due to lack of accommodation. This sharp growth, coupled with the increasing demand from the public for other courses, necessitated the introduction of new programmes, the improvement of existing ones and the search for bigger premises. By dint of hard work and good planning, it has matured from its humble initial background into a full modern tertiary institution now re-located on its own premises and affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba.

The introduction of other courses coupled with our affiliation with UEW made it imperative to convert the original name to “Jayee Institute”.
